Live Action Anime

Thanks go out to e-mail correspondant Sylvie for this bit of information. It seems that the upcoming live-action adaptation of Bubblegum Crisis will be using Red One cameras supplied by Redgate Rental, a Chinese-based company. Redgate Rental’s official site asserts that the choice was made due to the Red One’s “fantastic keying quality”. This announcement has been accompanied by four pictures:

I’m intrigued as to the origins of these images. Given that Bubblegum Crisis isn’t set to come out for over two years, the most obvious possibility would probably be the studios scouting out technology in anticipation of what the script may eventually demand. If so, then that’s an awful lot of green screen…
