Live Action Anime

Thanks go to ANN for this item of news. The 53rd BFI (British Film Institute) London Film Festival will be screening Studio IMAGI’s computer-animated adaptation of Astro Boy from October 14th to the 29th.

The trailer for the Astro Boy, directed by David Bowers and featuring the voice talent of Freddie Highmore in the lead role, can be seen here. Also screening at the festival will be The Legend of Kamui, Yoichi Sai’s live-action adaptation of Sanpei Shirato’s 1960’s manga, the trailer for which can be seen here, and a live-action adaptation of Yoshiie Goda’s manga Air Dolls. If you live around London, this is one event you’re not going to want to miss.
