For those of you who have no idea what’s going on in this whimsical spin-off, I suggest you watch webcasts 1-4 first. Of course, all of the webcasts contain a bit of fiction (from a small amount to a nigh complete amount), but this one, which should have been the fifth one, is entirely based in a fictional world. It will be one in a series, and I am very excited to tell you that this series will be scripted and given full planning and production stages (as opposed to these previous webcasts and this current one). Because I won’t have a computer as of May 2nd, the next installment will have to wait a couple of weeks to a couple of months — depending on when I get a job and get paychecks to cover a new iMac. I digress.

The music at the end is NOT my own. It is by Yoko Kanno, sung by Gabriela Robin. It was featured in Episode 5 of Cowboy Bebop — Ballad of Fallen Angels. My use of it in this video is a bit of a tribute (even though I’m nigh ashamed to even consider using such a poor creation as a tribute to a piece of music I hold in such high regard).

This series will affect the future of the webcasts, but probably not too visibly after the series ends. Think of it as appendiced material that gets watched between webcast 4 and webcast 5. The series will be at least 3 episodes long, and as many as 5 or 6 depending on where I go with the scripting. Quality over quantity, I promise. I already know where this is going and how it will end — I just haven’t decided how much content to provide. It’s going to be a lot of fun to— wait, that’d be a spoiler. Best to keep it secret. But after you watch the webcast, you might be able to guess what will come next.

Once the webcast returns with the real Webcast 5, I’ll be doing lots of interaction with forum members. (And I WILL be at Otakon — as will Volchok if he can get a job. We’ll have video cameras. We plan on having fun with interviewing other forum members. Check out the Otakon thread for details, I guess.)

So if you’re confused after watching this video and want to know what’s the dealio with continuity in the future, just treat this series as a spin-off in your mind. It’ll help keep all the details clear. It’s a semi-fictional world that takes place in a fictional world. And it’ll be humorous, especially after this episode.

Please post comments and questions. And feel free to write to TheGreatOak@googlemail.com — and I’ll forward anything you want to Volchok. Just make sure you use an appropriate subject title or it might get sent to my spam filter.

Most of all, please enjoy.

btw, I’m posting this at my own discretion. Oak didn’t want it to be posted because he didn’t feel it pertinent enough to merit posting on the homepage. As the quality of the webcasts improve, and only then, expect to see more webcasts on the homepage.
