Zac Efron “Not Likely” to Appear in Full Metal Panic Movie
Last week news broke out that popular anime and manga series Full Metal Panic would be adapted into a live action film, and that High School Musical star Zac Efron would be somehow involved. Seems that’s not to be the case anymore.
In an interview with MTV’s Splash Page, Efron commented that it was still “very early” to discuss the film, and that it was “to the point where [being in the film] is more than likely not going to happen”. However, he did confirm that he attended some early meetings on the movie, and revealed that he himself is actually a big comic book and manga fan, but declined to tell his favorites after saying that there are “far too many to name”. Zac Efron is too soft to be Sagara. Hope they will not destroy the anime like what they did to dragonball. Really hoping for a live action though…

I admit I didn’t know who he was till he was mentioned in he FMP news.
After taking a look at himm he doesn’t seem like the type that would fit his image and what he draw his fans to isn’t anything like Sagara from what it looks like it me.

??? It strikes me as odd that someone like Zac Efron would like anime I usually associate it with someone quirky like James Marsters, Michelle Rodriguez or something..
Guess people are starting to realize it’s a media and not just all the same.
I mean it’s like some say they don’t like anime, when they know so little about it, it’s kinda like saying you don’t like movies cause you didn’t like terminator and Rambo.
DAMMIT!!! Ever since I’ve heard Zac Effron = Sousuke, its all I can think about. Everytime I picture Sagara now, friggin Efron’s face come to mind!!!
Zac Effron can’t pronounce manga for crap, though. When rumors were flying around about him playing as Light, he was asked his hobbies, and he said, “May-nga”!!! It’s fucking “MAHN-GA!”
mmmm but how would they ever incorporate a Japanese school life into a Hollywood movie :/ that’s the thing that’s got me thinking. Private school? With uniforms resembling the Japanese style uniforms. But now that be too bad. I’m also very confused as to how they are going to change the names of the characters into English. I always think about that, how they’re going to change Japanese names into English names for the American public.

Death Note. I’ve heard of a Cowboy Bebop. Now Full Metal Panic. They all ready did a Dragonball. Astro Boy (Yes I consider this an anime, one of the earliest animes ever made) is not live action, it’s in CG but still……Hollywood is becoming more interested in anime and I guess it’s because now they’ve ran out of books to make movies out off so their aiming toward another source in which they can get good stories. I hope they dont ruin them though.
And Tasunara, please don’t discriminate if he said “may-nga” or whatever, that’s how I say it as well. I know, it’s just adding an unnecessary dipthong to the word, but that’s how I used to call it when I was a child and that’s how I say it because I’m used to it. But it’s a little surprising, I wouldn’t take Zac Effron as being a person who likes manga. But it’s understandable, I’ve seen interviews in which he is talking about how he used to be very shy and distant in school, and not like he is portrayed in High School Musical or Hairspray. I’m glad he didn’t take the Footloose role, just like he said, he shouldn’t be branded as the guy in every musical movie. And now he’s going to be in a more serious movie about a guy who works as a morgue or something. It’s good he’s moving away from this archetype character he has been having for a while.
I think Zac Effron is a very promising actor, with a little more work he could be great. Every actor began at the bottom. So yeah, I am a Zac Effron fan and not because High School Musical because that movie makes me want to rip my eyes from my eye sockets and throw them in a burning fire while laughing and chanting to the heavens to kill me before another damn movie comes out…….anyways, I do like Zac Effron…..and any girl can say they don’t like HSM but they cannot deny that he has a prettiness to him….almost like a Bishie prettiness, so that’s why he wouldn’t be good as Sagara, because Sagara is very rough and tough and there is something about Zac Effron that although he is always portrayed as some jock, is very delicate with a sort of gentlemanly attitude.
So I could never see Zac Effron randomly pulling out a gun at somewhat and having a stoic face.
Lolz, I wonder if they’ll do the Death Note cameo in this movie

hmmmm… I think Zac should be Kurtz because kurtz is laid back, nice and friendly personality Zac should hve no complaints if he is Kurtz.
