"Yes Adam I do kno its based on Dragon Ball & wit that being said since its based on Dragon Ball. Why is there no Krillin? Why is Goku in HIGH SCHOOL? How does he turn into the Great Ape with no tail? Also who was the 1 person he trained with during his time with Master Roshi, it was Krillin & later Yamcha trained with Roshi. Goku can fly in the movie but in the anime Goku was trained to fly by Tien who also is not in the movie. Lastly Adam why does Goku meet Chi Chi in high school & not @ the World Martial Arts Tournament also why does Bulma have fighting skills…So if you kno Dragon Ball as I do you would kno the movie got it all wrong. Not saying the movie wont be good, its just not going to be good to us die hard fans of the anime."

The answer to all of your questions is very simple...
ITS AN ADAPTATION NOT A DIRECT TRANSLATION!!!

Seriously, dude... if they had made it exactly like the source material, it would've been a confusing convoluted steaming pile of shit with blurry lame ass fight scenes and a laughable plot. There are things that work in animation that cannot work in live action film, and the stylized action and off the wall story telling of the DB franchise are some of them.

Taking that to heart, its the filmmaker's jobs to adapt said source material into a viable movie that will work on its own merit (for those unfamiliar with the source material) in a relatively short amount of time (series have hundreds of hourse to tell their stories, movies only have 2).

Unfortunately, doing this often leaves some die hard fans feeling betrayed (which is why I thank god I've only ever been a casual fan), and thus can cause an outrage. X-Men did the same thing to its die hard fans back when Bryan Singer "ruined" that.

Adaptations are impure and misrepresentitive more often than not, thus you have to set your die hard loyalty and pre-conceived notions aside in order to find enjoyment within a different interpretation of teh stories you love. Do this, and I'm sure you all can enjoy this film, as I did.

Krillin should have been in the movie they are both trained by Roshi at the same time(but Goku already knows the Kamehameha), and he gets killed during the king piccolo saga by tambourine. And Mai actually was one of emperor Pilaf minions. Kami should have been in it as well since he and piccolo are the same person.

I'm sorry but here is another person that doesnt kno wut they're talking about "El 1 Dragonball FAn", for ur info when I wrote the comment I unlike urself had already seen the movie over seas. U talk Dragonball sayin Krillin was dead in the Picollo saga, this movie takes place as far as the anime goes during the time that Goku was given the four star ball for the first time & ends with Goku killing King Picollo, now if my mind serves me correctly Krillin was very much alive. But he is not even mentioned in the film. So explain that smart guy.
