DragonBall Evolution $45 Million

Yep everyone the DragonBall Evolution budget was published in a newspaper in Chile. According to the newspaper DragonBall Evolution’s actual budget was only $45 million. It was previously thought that the movie had a budget of $100 million.  This means that the movie has made half of it’s budget back in Asia alone with a release date in early April for most other countries around the world including the U.S.

With half the budget already made back this movie is guaranteed to be profitable which means we will most likely be seeing a sequel in the very near future.

  1. solo 45 millones??? O.o

eso responde muchas de mis dudas ¬¬

  2. There is some good and bad in this budget thing.

  3. The good: A sequel is guaranteed
The bad: They could have improved it so much with a bigger wallet.

  4. Information on budgets is often contradictory and fallible. Mind you… if this is true, then it explains a LOT.

  5. If it made money that was half the budget, then I’m happy.

  6. Though its budget wasn’t like Speed Racer which was $120 million.

  7. pensandolo mejor…

is a fake information… en chile todo se informa y se hace mal (lo digo por que yo vivo en este dichoso pais ¬¬ y ese diario ni siquiera es conocido ni tiene mucha credibilidad)

  8. Maybe I’m wrong but I thought the old $100 million budget quote actually came from some Fox press release awhile back when they mentioned moving forward from it. I thought it came out with the budget information for Night At the Museum 2.

  9. Yeah here’s the press release:

“The 20th Century Fox studio is expected to shoot three big-budget movies in Montreal over the next year; each has a budget of at least $100 million. The films are the Night at the Museum sequel Another Night, Independence Day director Roland Emmerich’s remake of the sci-fi flick Fantastic Voyage and a big-screen adaptation of the Japanese manga Dragonball Z.”

Does this mean the budget was $100 million but they only used $45? Something to ponder.

  10. Not sure but I think that was actually something published in a news paper out of Montreal. I don’t think any of DBE was shot in Montreal at all. I think it was almost all shot in Mexico either on site or in an abandoned Jeans factory in Mexico. Also I think that was way back in 07 when they first announced that production on the film was finally starting so they may have started out planning on a $100 million budget but changed it to only $45 million.

  11. they want to use a much larger budget for the sequels.
that’s what I think at least!

    9 DAYS!!!!

  12. You know i sincerily think that they should ask me to help them with the sequel…cause i have a perfect idea for the storyline…the frieza and saiyan saga together..and also how to do the kame-hame-ha better and also…how to do the super saiyan tranformations….

And i found a way to put this storyline for evolution and the saiyan storyline together..instead of it being a reboot or something…

  13. I mean C’mon! Does this movie actually look like a 100 million? I think not.

  14. sounds like they´re waiting for something to see how do we react to this “experiment”, but with such budget i dont think we´ll see a decent DB movie, just a normal summer film with no relevant impact, and if they´re already doing the sequel they better get it right this time. anyway it´s only a couple of days now.

  15. WOW!! It explains so much. Also, why am I always a grumpy square? or octogan?

  16. $45? That would explain alot… still, I wonder if there’s really going to be a sequel.

  17. I dont think the people that make these movies actually do their homework before they ruin the greatest action anime ever made…This movie has nothing to do with Dragon Ball…I love DBZ I even have it tattoed on my arm…This garbage has broken my heart! U DONT NEED ALOT OF MONEY TO WRITE A GOOD STORY & CAST THE RIGHT PEOPLE!

  18. LOL sorry rainyfriday all random lol

Also Willku you know this is based on the original DragonBall not DragonBall Z right?

  19. Yes Adam I do kno its based on Dragon Ball & wit that being said since its based on Dragon Ball. Why is there no Krillin? Why is Goku in HIGH SCHOOL? How does he turn into the Great Ape with no tail? Also who was the 1 person he trained with during his time with Master Roshi, it was Krillin & later Yamcha trained with Roshi. Goku can fly in the movie but in the anime Goku was trained to fly by Tien who also is not in the movie. Lastly Adam why does Goku meet Chi Chi in high school & not @ the World Martial Arts Tournament also why does Bulma have fighting skills…So if you kno Dragon Ball as I do you would kno the movie got it all wrong. Not saying the movie wont be good, its just not going to be good to us die hard fans of the anime.

  20. haha .. I really do not want to see another one of this film

for me this not and DB

  21. Wow I am so excited for this movie I have been waiting Eight years for this and people wondering why there is no Krillin its because he was dead in the Picollo saga. And Mai did work for Picollo. So dont judge this movie before you have seen it Dragonball atlest deserves that. And remember that there is 20 more minutes for this movie so hey more action

  22. I’m sorry but here is another person that doesnt kno wut they’re talking about “El 1 Dragonball FAn”, for ur info when I wrote the comment I unlike urself had already seen the movie over seas. U talk Dragonball sayin Krillin was dead in the Picollo saga, this movie takes place as far as the anime goes during the time that Goku was given the four star ball for the first time & ends with Goku killing King Picollo, now if my mind serves me correctly Krillin was very much alive. But he is not even mentioned in the film. So explain that smart guy.

  23. Krillin should have been in the movie they are both trained by Roshi at the same time(but Goku already knows the Kamehameha), and he gets killed during the king piccolo saga by tambourine. And Mai actually was one of emperor Pilaf minions. Kami should have been in it as well since he and piccolo are the same person.

The answer to all of your questions is very simple…
ITS AN ADAPTATION NOT A DIRECT TRANSLATION!!!

Seriously, dude… if they had made it exactly like the source material, it would’ve been a confusing convoluted steaming pile of shit with blurry lame ass fight scenes and a laughable plot. There are things that work in animation that cannot work in live action film, and the stylized action and off the wall story telling of the DB franchise are some of them.

Taking that to heart, its the filmmaker’s jobs to adapt said source material into a viable movie that will work on its own merit (for those unfamiliar with the source material) in a relatively short amount of time (series have hundreds of hourse to tell their stories, movies only have 2).

Unfortunately, doing this often leaves some die hard fans feeling betrayed (which is why I thank god I’ve only ever been a casual fan), and thus can cause an outrage. X-Men did the same thing to its die hard fans back when Bryan Singer “ruined” that.

Adaptations are impure and misrepresentitive more often than not, thus you have to set your die hard loyalty and pre-conceived notions aside in order to find enjoyment within a different interpretation of teh stories you love. Do this, and I’m sure you all can enjoy this film, as I did.

  29. supposely the guys who did the matrix special effects was involved in this. if so it must of been there coffee and donuts” go get it guys” they could of used special effects and fighting scenes like in the last matrix movie. thats how i picture goku fighting .

  30. at least use the real characters from the anime and not made up ones like piccolo’s side kick. who the heck was she anyways?!?!?!?
and he had darth vaders powers. Garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!
