Updates on The Last Airbender
It looks like M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender is moving along pretty well. Recently he cast several actors in some of the key roles of the film. If you all remember that open casting call for Aang that was held a while back, that produced 12 year old Karate Champion Noah Ringer. I searched for some photos but couldn’t find any. Hopefully more will surface as the production moves along.
In other roles we’ll be seeing Nicola Peltz (Deck the Halls) as Sokka’s sister Katara, singer Jesse McCartney is in negotiations to play Prince Zuko, and Jackson Rathbone (Twilight) will be Sokka.

Sorry to nit pick but Katara is Sokka’s sister not Aang’s. She is Aang’s love interest.
Anyway, it’s good to know this guy likes the show and knows the character.

Oops sorry about that guys. I’ve never actually seen the show so I must of read the source wrong. Don’t hesitate to correct me on these things in the future if you ever see any mistakes! ^_^;
ZUKO IS ROXAS!! An… odd choice.
Just because you’re trying to appeal to an audience
in the U.S., doesn’t mean you should replace the main characters
of what was very similarly an inuit/asian culture and
replace them with white characters.
it’ll look funny, it’ll create disbelief in the entire
world that shyamalan is trying to create, and overall
just dissapoint the fans out there that know and
love the characters.
i refuse to believe that they were unable to find
asian actors to fit these roles. not all the characters
came from asian-like cultures, but essentially
all main characters did of all four nations.
This is just a far greater injustice than jake gyllenhall
passing off as a persian.
This needs to be updated; Jesse McCartney was replaced by Dev Patel, of Slumdog Millionaire fame.
